Dillard University is pleased to introduce a state-of-the-art early warning system capable of sending notifications of impending emergencies/crisis situations to all registered mobile devices (via SMS/text messaging), PDAs, email addresses, text pagers, and RSS feeds. The system can also send real-time messages to anyone using Google, My AOL, My Yahoo, or Windows Live.

- You will receive a text message on your chosen cellular device with a 4-digit validation code.
- Enter the code when requested.
- Log in to add your email address and another number (if desired).
- Write down username and password.

Depending on the type of service you have with your cellular provider, you may incur a service charge for text messages. Dillard University will not be responsible for any charges incurred.

Update from the National Weather Center @NWSNewOrleans: 1pm - Karen still holding as 40 mph tropical storm. Motion is nearly stationary, but expected to start moving N then NE later today.

Dillard University continues to monitor Tropical Storm Karen. According to the latest weather reports, the storm is dissipating and does not pose a serious threat to New Orleans. Karen is expected to make landfall on Sunday. However, in anticipation of the aftermath of TS Karen, classes and business operations have been suspended until Tuesday, October 8. Note that Dillard University residence halls will remain open and dining services for residential students will remain uninterrupted throughout the weekend. In addition, Dillard essential personnel are expected to report to work on Monday based on instructions from your respective supervisors.
