Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. We recognize that obtaining a higher education represents an important and significant financial commitment for families. To apply for aid, all students must be admitted to Dillard and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. The FAFSA must be completed annually and will be available January 1st  of the award year.  Priority deadline is March 1st.

TRANSITION TO THE FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN PROGRAM 

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships is prepared for major changes in the federal student loan program. On Thursday, March 30, 2010, President Obama signed the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H.R. 4872). This legislation will require all institutions to make the transition to the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. Currently, the office participates in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) which will be terminated by June 30, 2010 as required by this recently passed legislation.

Under the Direct Loan Program, loans are made by the U.S. Department of Education instead of private lenders under the FFELP program. All federal loans Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and Parent PLUS will be processed through the Direct Loan program effective July 1, 2010. All students who wish to borrow student loans will be required to complete a new master promissory note through the Direct Loan program. Students and parents can complete the promissory note at www.studentsloans.gov. The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship encourages all students to complete a new promissory note now, to avoid delays in receiving loan funds.
