After graduating with a doctorate degree in Mathematics and Physics from a leading European university, Dr. Mustapha took classes organized by London School of Economics where he greatly enjoyed economics and finance and decided to come to the US to pursue a doctorate degree in financial economics while teaching mathematics. Dr. Mustapha is currently an ABD in Financial Economics. He also holds two M.S. degrees from the University of New Orleans, one in statistics and the other in financial economics. Dr. Mustapha is fluent in many languages including English, French, and Russian. He has knowledge of Spanish and some Eastern European languages.
Dr. Mustapha’s current research interests are in the areas of banking and financial institutions and international finance. Dr. Mustapha frequently attends international conferences in economics and finance. He has numerous publications in refereed journals.
Dr. Mustapha has been the recipient of several grants, including major grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents. Dr. Mustapha has gained tremendous teaching experience in finance, economics and statistics. He taught numerous courses including portfolio analysis, international finance, financial management, econometrics and calculus for economics. In addition to outstanding evaluation from the students, Dr. Mustapha won twice the University-wide “Professor of the Year” Award. He received personal congratulation from Dillard University president for teaching excellence published in the University newsletter “President’s Brief. He is the College of Business “Faculty of the Year” Award winner for several years. Dr. Mustapha also successfully taught at Loyola University and the university of New Orleans. He received many certificates of appreciation for his steadfast involvement as faculty mentor in undergraduate research and for his service to Dillard University. Dr. Mustapha was a member of the Business Advisory Council at Dillard University where he has contributed in instituting, integrating and enhancing the College of Business educational programs that prepares students for the rigor of the business world.
