    The Dillard Choir begins its 2013 National Tour this week with a first stop to Metropolitan CME Church in Houston, Tx on Friday, March 15. Dillard President Dr. Walter Kimbrough will be addressing alumni at the facility on Thursday, Marc 14. Houston has been a bastion of support and a top pool for future Dillard students.

    The "New Orleans in the 21st Century" event hosted by Dillard University is making news. Moderated by news anchor Norman Robinson, the March 12, 2013 event has current Mayor Mitch Landrieu, former mayor Marc Morial and former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young discussing ways to make New Orleans even more viable in the 21st century. Young attended Dillard for a year and sat on the Board of Trustees as well.

    Future Dillard student Aamina Young has been recognized for her selfless volunteer work with cancer patients and named a Louisiana Young Hero. Scheduled to being Dillard in Falll 2013, the accomplished young woman has overcome remarkable challenges like cancer and still found time to maintain an honorable GPA and volunteer with children.

    Ruth Simmons Breaks Academic Barriers PDF Print E-mail

    RuthSimmons-WebDillard alumna and Board of Trustees member Ruth Simmons made history twice, in becoming the first woman and first African American to lead an Ivy League College. 

    Simmons has served on a number of boards, including the Dillard University’s Board of Trustees, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, and Texas Instruments.
