    Dillard University Associate Professor Dr. Gary Clark discusses the second inauguration of President Barack Obama, on WWL TV. Dr. Clark shares his views on President Obama's referencing Lincoln and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, his inauguration speech, and his legacy as a president. Along with Eric Paulsen and Sally Ann Roberts, Dr. Clark shares what he sees as Obama's signature moments in office.

    Mighty Mitchell the First Female Globetrotter to Play in Houston in Decades PDF Print E-mail

    Dillard alumna and Harlem Globetrotter Ariel "Mighty" Mitchell will be playing at the Reliant Arena in Houston, Texas beginning on Jan. 26. She is the first female Globetrotter to play in Houston in 20 years. 

    Dillard alumnus and "Supertrotter" Billy Ray Hobley is also mentioned.

    The 2013 Martin Luther King Jr. Week of Peace includes several events at Dillard University. Beginning with a discussion from the Alphas on Wednesday, Jan. 15, Dillard will be home to this year's City of New Orleans Memorial Service on Sunday, January 20, a special lecture series featuring Tavis Smiley and Cornel West on Monday, January 21, followed by the MLK Convocation on Tuesday, January 22.

    Dillard University will host a special jazz concert in Lawless Chapel on Friday, January 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Jazz Journey Series from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation continues with star-studded performers including gospel singer Barbara Morrison, Grammy-nominated singer Gregory Porter and New Orleans trumpeter Warren Jones.

    Dillard Hosts Students from Brazil in 2013 PDF Print E-mail

    Dillard University welcomes a large group of students from Brazil for the next three semesters under the HBCU-Brazil Alliance. The alliance, established by the federal government, seeks to increase cooperation in STEM disciplines between Brazilian universities and historically Black colleges and universities in the United States.

    Dr. Kimya Dawson-Smith in the Office of International Students & Study Abroad Programs has spearheaded the program.
