The 17th National HBCU Faculty Development Symposium will take place Oct. 21-23, 2010, at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside Hotel. The symposium's theme is "Closing the Generational Divide: Strategies That Work for Millennial Students at HBCUs." On Thursday, Oct. 21, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Dillard will host a reception for presenters and sponsors. The symposium is co-sponsored by Dillard, Xavier, Grambling and Southern Universities. On Wednesday, Oct. 27, Dillard University will host education historian Diane Ravitch for a seminar on "The Sad State of Education Reform Today." The seminar will be held in the new Professional Schools and Sciences Building at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
