Job Description

Dillard University, a historically black, comprehensive liberal arts institution, invites
applications and nominations for the position of Director of Programs and Evaluation in Health Disparities Research.

Dillard University seeks an experienced Director of Programs and Evaluation in Health Disparities Research for the NIH Endowed Chair in Health Disparities Research office. The Program Director will be responsible for coordinating activities for all programs associated with that Office; directs and oversees the effective collection, processing, tracking, and delivery of data designed to identify and address issues of minority health disparities research. Develops and ensures the adoption of approved data collection methods.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
• Works closely with key personnel for all programs which fall under the ECHDR to insure that all  deliverables are provided in a high-quality and timely manner.
• Provides Evaluation support to projects and programs under the supervision of the ECHDR.
• Monitors funding opportunity announcements for any that may appropriate.
• Coordinates arrangement of programs, events, or conferences by arranging for facilities and caterer, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget.
• Plans, organizes and coordinates the collection of data focusing on reducing and resolving minority health disparities.
• Oversees the development and maintenance of a centralized database for data collection, analysis, program evaluation, and decision support.
• Directs and/or collaborates in the preparation and submission of data and applicable reports. Ensures reports are submitted within the specified time frame.
• Arranges complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries, compiles documents for travel-related meetings, and accompanies supervisor when requested.

Qualifications Required qualifications:
• Masters degree in health care administration, management, health sciences, public health, statistics or related field is preferred but not required
• Five (5) years of related experience; experience cannot be substituted for educational requirement.
• Demonstration of experience in developing and implementing research evaluation activities.
• Proficiency in Statistical Programs Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and other MS functions
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.

The successful candidate will have experience in working with faculty, students and staff from a diverse background.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Applications and nominations will continue to be accepted and reviewed weekly until the position is filled.
