With a theme that is reflective of the leadership of Dillard University, Women’s History Month 2024 celebrates “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.”
In 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued a presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8, 1980, as National Women’s History Week. In 1988, Congress requested the president proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month.
As women take on more roles that have traditionally been held by their male counterparts, studies confirm that when a woman is in charge, organizations experience an increase in productivity, enhanced collaboration, and a level of trust.
Although overall, the proportion of male and female leaders is far from equal, on Dillard’s campus, we are proud to say that of its nine members, the president’s senior cabinet consists of six women, who exemplify this year’s theme of advocating for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
President’s Senior Cabinet
Ceeon D. Quiett Smith, Ph.D.
VP for Student Success and Operations
As one of the nation’s leading experts in crisis and risk management, Dr. Smith is the first African American to earn a doctoral degree from the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.She manages the divisions of student success, athletics, campus police, and Lawless Memorial Chapel. She has worked with private entities, the federal government, and HBCUs.
Mrs. Stephanie Rogers, B.S.
Executive VP for Institutional Advancement
Mrs. Rogers has 20+ years of experience in nonprofit leadership and fundraising in higher education. She provides leadership over fundraising and development, and alumni relations. She has extensive experience in private, government, and nonprofit sectors.
Ms. Mablene Krueger, M.B.A.
Interim Provost, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
As interim provost, Ms. Krueger led Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management during the University’s search for a permanent provost. She brings with her 25 years of executive level leadership experience in administration and an additional 15 years in the classroom as an instructor and student mentor. Krueger has worked extensively with first-generation, diverse students from under-resourced communities.
Monique Guillory, Ph.D.
Provost, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dr. Guillory brings 30 years of executive leadership experience at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs). Her expertise includes academic program development, accreditation processes, STEM pipelines, and student success.
Mrs. Wanda Brooks, CPA, CGMA, CICA
Internal Auditor / Interim CFO
Mrs. Brooks has served as Dillard’s Internal Auditor for 17+ years under four presidents and has, when called upon, stepped into the role of CFO on an interim basis. Mrs. Brooks’ reputation as a tough, but fair, no-nonsense member of the cabinet has earned her the respect of faculty and staff campus wide.
Ms. Victoria Alexis
Director of Communications & Marketing
Ms. Alexis brings to Dillard 15+ years of experience in the development and delivery of professional and executive-level communications, event strategy, message, and content marketing plans. Under her direction, the communications team continues to grow and advance our marketing platform to the next level.
