Dillard University Clearance & Orientation

As you prepare to join us this fall, we have designed this page to help ensure that your transition to Dillard University is as stress free as possible. Please read this page and refer back to it as often as you need. It contains important information for you to prepare for the August 1st, clearance deadline. All incoming students have until August 1st to complete our clearance process and be cleared by all offices listed below:

Final Official Transcripts

High School Students:

An official transcript of your final high school grades with your date of graduation listed must be submitted by August 1st. Students who do not provide their final official high school transcript will not be permitted to participate in SOAR and attend classes. SOAR is mandatory for all incoming students.

Transfer Students:

If you are a transfer applicant or have received college credits while in high school, an official final transcript from the college where the credit was earned should be submitted no later than August 1st. Students who do not provide their official college transcript(s) will not be permitted to participate in SOAR and attend classes. Said transcript cannot indicate Work In Progress (WIP).

Submission of $150 enrollment fee. Payments are accepted and preferred to be paid online (pay your $150 enrollment fee), via check or money order made payable to Dillard University. This payment should include your DU ID#. Please note that this fee is not refundable.

All students must obtain a $0 balance once all tuition, fees and room and board have been applied accordingly. Students will have the option to provide outside scholarships, setup a payment plan, pay by check or credit card etc. For questions regarding how to setup a payment plan, please call the University Cashier at (504) 816-4654.

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Dillard’s school code is 002004. Please make sure we have your Social Security Number on file and that you have added Dillard to your FAFSA. If you have not yet received your financial aid package, please contact our office directly.

All persons entering Dillard for the first time must show proof of immunization prior to registering for classes. Your ability to register will be held until proof can be obtained. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Student Health Services at (504) 816-4543.

Office of Residential Life

Students who wish to reside on campus must complete the housing application. The housing application will be provided via email once your enrollment fee has been received.

  1.  To access your MyDU student account. (for an optimal user experience, please access all weblinks using a PC instead of mobile or tablet devices)
  2.  Click on myDU (top green toolbar)
  3.  Log in using your
             a.   User name – (your DU student ID# 123456)
             b.   Password – (use the forgot password link to have a password reset link emailed to you)
             *Please note that the link to reset your password will be sent to the email address you applied with. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail for the reset password link. Contact us via email admissions@dillard.edu if you need additional assistance. 
  4.  Click on the green tab entitled NEW STUDENT
  5.  Read and follow the prompts on the page to help guide you through this process

Important Dates

Clearance Day – an opportunity to begin your transition to Dillard University early. During this on campus, one day visit, students and parents will be afforded the opportunity to complete our clearance process in person and tie up any loose ends prior to the August 1st deadline. You can attend either session and either date is optional.

August 1st:

Clearance deadline for all offices including fiscal payment (inclusive of the payment plan) for fall. Submission deadline for all AP/IB/CLEP test scores and official transcripts for dual/concurrent/developmental course(s).

August 2nd:

Fall course schedules and housing assignments purged (deleted) if CLEARANCE is not obtained by August 1st.

*After this date, once CLEARANCE is obtained in all offices, contact the Residential Life Office at (residentiallife@dillard.edu) and University College at (universitycollege@dillard.edu) for reinstatement of lost schedule and new assignment.
