Emerging Scholars program is a five-week residential summer program. This residential summer program is designed to provide an academically stimulating and culturally motivating experience. The goal of Emerging Scholars is to increase the number of students who successfully matriculate through the undergraduate curriculum by enhancing their reading, writing, mathematical, and critical thinking skills, while heightening their cultural and social readiness. This program not only provides academic support; it also provides tutoring, academic counseling and mentoring throughout the freshman year and beyond.

● Earn six college credits in English and math while learning how to navigate Dillard.

 

● Engage with like-minded peers while experiencing New Orleans and Dillard's culture and community.

 

● Receive an early introduction to Dillard's campus resources designed to ensure your success.

 

● Develop supportive relationships and connections with University faculty, staff and advisors.

 

● Access tutoring sessions and student success seminars.

 

● Experience residential life at DU!

 

Next Steps

 

● Gain admission to Dillard for Fall 2022.

 

● Submit your Emerging Scholars application by May 2nd.

 

          ● Submit non-refundable $500 participation fee which goes towards overall program cost (Financial Aid cannot be used to cover the participation fee).

  •  

● Complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA to be considered for Financial Aid for the Emerging Scholars Program.

 

● Complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA to be considered for Financial Aid for the 2022-2023 year (which begins August 2022).

 

● Submit your ACT/SAT scores or complete the ACCUPLACER exam.

 

Cost 

 

The $3,500 fee includes six (6) college credits, room and meals, social/cultural excursions, and the non-refundable participation fee.
