Monday, September 13

Teaching and learning are resumeing today in an asynchronous format. Assignments are being posted in Canvas. Faculty have started posting assignments with due dates. There are no face-to-face class meetings, so you will work on your own. Faculty, however, are available for virtual office hours (one hour per class) to answer questions at designated times throughout the week. The virtual hours are posted in Canvas. No papers or exams will be assigned during this asynchronous teaching and learning period, however, you may be asked to write between one and three paragraphs in response to a discussion question or reading.
If you do not have access to reliable wi-fi, email Dr. Eartha Johnson, dean of faculty and student academic services, at ejohnson@dillard.edu. For Canvas technical support, email dealsupport@dillard.edu. Please view the updated academic calendar HERE.

All non-essential personnel will continue to telework through September 18th as the facilities team completes health and safety assessments. If you are unsure of your work schedule requirements, please check with your supervisor. Teleworking will require being accessible by phone and/or email. If you need IT assistance with computer or university login access, please contact helpdesk@dillard.edu

To prepare you for 100% online classes, you should be able to access Canvas via the DU Portal. Please bookmark this page. Remember that you can also find the DU Portal link on the top green bar of the dillard.edu homepage.

To successfully navigate the online learning environment, visit DU Online. This page will help you understand terms such as “asynchronous” versus “synchronous,” how to make the most of tools such as discussion boards and more.
