Dillard University evaluates success with respect to student achievement in a manner consistent with its mission, which is to cultivate leaders who live ethically, think and communicate precisely, and act courageously to make the world a better place. In particular, Dillard measures student achievement in three different areas:
I. Retention and Graduation Rates
SACSCOC Key Completion Indicator: National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) Total 6-year Completion Rate
Threshold of Acceptability: The institution’s 6-year completion rate will exceed the 6-year completion rate of African American/black students at all institutions.
Goal: The institution’s 6-year completion rate will approach the completion rate of African American/black students at private 4-year nonprofit institutions.

The Fall Enrollment 2020 IPEDS data submission indicates that African American/black students make up 93.9% of Dillard University’s student population for whom race is known. Thus, the NSC 6-year completion rates for African American/black students stand as important indicators of Dillard’s student success.
University Goal 1: Six-Year Graduation Rate
Threshold of Acceptability: The institution’s 6-year graduation rate will exceed the mean 6-year graduation rate across all Private Not-for-Profit Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with Master-level degree or below as the highest offering (39 institutions).
Goal: The institution’s 6-year graduation rate will approach the 75th percentile marker for 6-year graduation rate across all Private Not-for-Profit Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with Master-level degree or below as the highest offering (39 institutions).

Expected level of achievement: The College of Nursing’s graduation rate will exceed 70% (based on the input from faculty, the LSBN Education Committee, and external consultants).

III. Licensure Exams
University Goal 6: NCLEX-RN Licensure Exam
Dillard University College of Nursing (DUCON) has established expected level of achievements (ELA) that are consistent with the expectations of the University and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Expected level of achievement: The pass rate for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) is established by LSBN at 80% for first time writers within a given year regardless of the year of graduation (LAC46XLVII.3523B).

Dillard University College of Nursing (DUCON) has established expected level of achievements (ELA) that are consistent with the expectations of the University and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
Expected level of achievement: The job placement rate is established by ACEN at 70%, based on placement 6 months post-graduation and including successful first-time writers and second time writers.
