Urban Studies and Public Policy Degrees and Programs
Our Urban Studies and Public Policy curriculum explores urban issues in real estate development, transportation, land use and housing that focuses on finding solutions to inner-city problems such as unemployment, poverty, and crime. Through engaging coursework and practical experiences at Dillard, you will tackle real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions that positively impact communities.
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The major in urban studies and public policy is designed to prepare students for careers in public service or private corporations involved in public issues. Our program is designed to empower you with the tools to become a leader in shaping urban environments and public policy. The curriculum explores urban issues in real estate development, transportation, land use and housing that focuses on finding solutions to inner-city problems such as unemployment, poverty, and crime. Through engaging coursework and practical experiences, you will tackle real-world challenges and develop innovative solutions that positively impact communities.
To graduate, complete 122 credit hours:
- General Education Core: 41 credit hours
- Major Requirements: 30 credit hours
- Additional Coursework: 51 credit hours
Engage in service learning for 30 hours, community service for 90 hours by junior year, and pass writing proficiency exams. Choose minor or general electives advised by faculty.
Complete 18 credit hours to earn the Urban Studies and Public Policy Minor, equipping yourself with essential knowledge and skills for shaping thriving communities.
