Become a Creator with Technology.
We need more minority young men to be prepared for success in the digital world. That’s why Dillard University and Verizon are inviting African American and Latino boys in middle school to participate in a unique technology immersion program that starts with a summer camp and continues with sessions on specific Saturdays throughout the academic year. Students will get hands-on experience with advanced technology, including coding, 3-D design and printing, robotics, virtual reality and more.
Students will see what it’s like to be in college and they’ll be paired with graduate and undergraduate students who will serve as year round mentors. The program’s goal is to expose African American and Latino boys to technology and careers in technology fields they may not have been aware of.
We need more kids to see the world of possibilities waiting for them. With access to technology tools and educational resources, our young men can use technology to create a better future for themselves, their communities and the world.
