Dillard University will host several film screenings and lectures as part of the 2012 Social Change Film Festival.
SCFFI features five days of films, panels, workshops, and special events to inspire a global community focused on expanding the reach of conscious social change film and media. SCFFI chooses an annual theme that is explored throughout the festival’s events in order to raise awareness about critical social, environmental, and political issues. The theme for the 2012 festival is Water: Challenges & Solutions.

Dillard President Hosts Thanksgiving Dinner |

A home cooked meal at Thanksgiving is something every student should have. Dillard University President Dr. Walter Kimbrough and family offered his home to several Dillard students who weren't able to travel home to be with family.
"We knew there were students who needed a place for Thanksgiving dinner and we decided we would host a group," said Dr. Kimbrough.

President Kimbrough Discusses Hazing at Bayou Classic 2012 |

On November 23, 2012 Dillard University President Dr. Walter Kimbrough shared his thoughts on hazing during a special session of the Bayou Classic. Alumni, fans and guests filled the Empire Ballroom in the Hyatt Regency Hotel to hear a sometimes-heated discussion about pervasive hazing problems on their campuses, other HBCU campuses and elsewhere.

Dillard University will host an important conference on youth and the state of mental health in New Orleans, on Tuesday, November 20, 2012.
A recent study conducted by the Institute of Women and Ethnic Studies on the mental health issues of New Orleans youth shows an alarming trend. Unless solutions are found to reverse these trends, the social fabric of the city will continue to deteriorate.
